HERRINGBONE SHIPLAP KITCHEN ISLAND UPDATE
This Herringbone shiplap kitchen island update is something we’ve been wanting to do forever. So, last weekend we were sitting on the deck and just decided let’s do it! We’ve always wanted to shiplap the island but, I wanted to switch it up a little and requested herringbone shiplap.
THE PROCESS
We used the color Sherwin Willams High Reflective White, which is the same color as the rest of the kitchen cabinets. Kasey bought primed shiplap from Home Depot, the back was pretty straight forward. But, getting the angles just right on the herringbone was tricky. He also uses the nickel trick to get the spacing just right between boards. We did skinny trim around the sides and bottom to not take away form the herringbone design.
I love little projects like this that take a day or two and completely transform your space. I am all about creating a home you love with little touches.
